The objective of the project is to enhance environmental protection and encourage domestic natural gas production by providing accurate information about the water treatment technologies available to support various shale gas water management approaches. As part of this effort, and in recognition of reuse/recycling as a growing management approach, this Scale/Mixing Model is being created to provide additional information that will facilitate re-use of the water by providing information on the predicted chemical make-up of blended waters and the treatments that may be needed to address the scale tendencies of those waters.
